Banana Brownie-Bottom Cake
What You Need:
4 oz. (1/2 of 225-g pkg.) Baker's Unsweetened Chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup butter
2-1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
4 eggs, divided
1 tsp. vanilla
3-1/2 cups flour, divided
1 cup mashed fully ripe bananas (about 3)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 tsp. Magic Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Make It:
Heat oven to 350ºF.
Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted; stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Add 2 cups granulated sugar; mix well. Blend in 3 eggs and vanilla. Stir in 1 cup flour.
Pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 15 min.
Meanwhile, beat remaining egg, granulated sugar, bananas, brown sugar and oil in large bowl until blended. Mix remaining flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in separate bowl. Add to banana mixture; mix well.
Spoon banana mixture over partially baked cake layer in pan; spread to evenly cover bottom layer. Bake 25 min. or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
